Week 10 Review: Make No Jones About It
Week 10 offered us yet another example of how unpredictable the NFL can be at times. The Dolphins beat the Ravens, the Football Team beat the Bucs, and the Panthers downed the Cardinals, albeit with no Kyler Murray or DeAndre Hopkins. Trevor Siemian, rostered in 3.7% of ESPN leagues, outscored many of the week’s highest projected QB’s, finishing as QB5. Mark Ingram is an RB1 for the Saints, again, while Cam Newton is running into the endzone for the Panthers, again. Oh yeah, and Odell Beckham is now an LA Ram.
All caught up? Good, because as much as things change, some remain the same. The Lions still can’t find the win column, as they tied with the Steelers on Sunday. Despite the league seeing a tie in each of the past three seasons, there’s always somebody who didn’t know that games could end in a tie. Yes, Najee Harris, NFL games can end in a tie.
Another constant, unfortunately, is injuries. Robert Woods tore his ACL a day after the Rams signed Beckham, Aaron Jones suffered a sprained MCL on Sunday, and Baker Mayfield did not return to his game after exiting with a knee injury.
Let’s see what else week 10 brought us.
Jones completed 82.6% of his passes on Sunday, which is a strong mark for anyone, let alone a rookie. He threw the ball just 23 times, completing 19 of them for 198 yards and three touchdowns. While nobody would categorize this as a herculean performance, his 19.92 fantasy points placed him as the week's QB4 through Sunday. Jones’ effort in the blowout win over the Browns came after a down week 9 in which he posted just 5.96 points. Regardless of how you felt about him as a prospect, you have to be impressed with how he bounced back and what he’s done this season. Right, Sam?
