Kyler Murray is the most expensive QB on this slate, and rightly so. I can see myself having some stacks involving him, but there are certainly a few others I’ll be targeting.
Tom Brady vs Falcons $6900 (Andy)
Jalen Hurts threw for 264/3 last weekend, and I’d expect similar from Brady. Obviously, he does not offer the rushing upside that other quarterbacks can. Following on from his week one performance against Dallas, this is an excellent opportunity to back this up with another top showing. We could see him clear 300 yards and makes him an intriguing option in this Thrive $20 NFL Week 2 Sun - $50,000 GTD contest.
Justin Herbert vs Dallas $6700 (Andy)
It’s looking likely that the Cowboys will once again be a defense to target. I’d expect the Chargers to work Ekeler into the passing game to boost Herbert’s stats in this matchup.
Jalen Hurts vs SF $6500 (Phil)
He only jumped $100 in cost and was QB 7 last week, he should remain up top as SF let Goff throw it around the yard and be a top 3 fantasy QB. I would expect Hurts to do the same.
Tyrod Taylor vs CLE $5500 (Phil)
Cleveland lost in heart-breaking fashion last week while Houston went in and controlled the game against Jax. I expect this one to be closer which should allow Tyrod the chance to throw more after last week where they were conservative in the second half and mostly ran.
Jonathan Taylor vs Rams $7200 (Andy)
This week I can see myself selecting more of the top-end running backs and taking more value at the receiver position. JT touched the ball 23 times last week (including six catches), and the Rams just gave up 108/1 to David on sixteen carries. Although it is still a tough matchup, the volume Taylor should receive means he is in play and he should outrush Miles Sanders and is a great pick in this Thrive $10 NFL Versus WK 2 - $5K Guaranteed contest.
James White vs Jets $4900 (Andy)
Are you struggling for a cheap flex play? James White could be offered more work following Harris’ costly fumble. Even if he is not, he should still provide a decent output with his receiving work.
Elijah Mitchell vs PHI $5000 (Phil)
With Mostert now done for the season, Mitchell appears to be the next man up, and of those playing Sunday this week finished 7th. A bargain who should see more playing time.
Melvin Gordon vs Jax $5900 (Phil)
I’m still aboard the Gordon train as Jax is bad. So bad that their coach after 1 game was already rumored to be considering the USC opening. The defense still isn’t great and Denver will follow the same formula as last week.
Mike Williams/Keenan Allen vs Cowboys $6100/$7000. (Andy)
Herbert plus Williams or Allen could be my go-to stack of the week. Both received double-digit targets and finished with over twenty points each. Allen could be the safer play, but Williams offers that big-play potential that is tempting at his price.
Antonio Brown vs Falcons $6000 (Phil)
AB looks explosive and Brady is keying on him. One less point than Godwin last week but $600 less, I will take the savings to use on TE or RB.
Ja’Marr Chase vs Chi $5000 (Phil)
All this rookie did was score 23.9 points in his debut against the Vikings, now he plays Chicago who struggled to keep WRs in front of them allowing two 55 plus yard TDs. I will take Chase on the discount.
Noah Fant vs Jaguars $4200 (Andy)
Jerry Jeudy went down last week after a promising start to week one. Fant should have a safe target share (and would even if Jeudy was still on the field)
James O'Shaughnessy vs Broncos $2900 (Andy)
Eight targets should not be ignored. Will it be consistent? Only time will tell, but if Trevor Lawrence looks his way again consistently, he will not need many points to return his cost.
Rob Gronkowski vs Atlanta $4700 (Phil)
Gronk looks to be playing back into shape and like AB Tom loves him. I won’t expect 2 TDs again but at least one and for his cost, he is a bargain especially in this Thrive$20 NFL W2 Sun TD's Only - $10,000 GTD contest.
Dallas Goedert vs SF $4600 (Phil)
Quickly becoming one of Hurt's favorite targets, Ertz is nursing a hamstring injury and if he misses will push Dallas up even higher in my weekly ranks.
