Week 2: Waiver Wire

Twitter: @benjamm1n

Unlike last week, sometimes the gems are rare and must be uncovered. To be real, this is more of a save your FAAB waiver week and I wouldn’t put a lot down for many options, but that’s not to say that there aren’t moves worth making. Let’s take a look.

Running Backs:

Cordarrelle Patterson

I’m kicking myself over this one. I had him rostered in many redraft leagues and ended up dropping him before kickoff for a Hail Mary hype play. Welp. Patterson proved that he will continue to be highly used in this Falcons offense after 7 rushing attempts for eleven yards and 5 catches for 58 yards with a rushing and receiving touchdown. He also had another touchdown called back due to a penalty. Patterson is the add I’d be willing to spend a bit on. I am personally putting down 30% but that will likely be higher than you need to use as many will still think his usage is flukey and won’t be able to be consistent - which may be the case, but he is worth the add. 15-30% of FAAB depending on your confidence level should do the trick.

Ty Johnson

Ty Johnson carved himself out a role in this Jets offense on a day that was absolutely abysmal for the entire offense. He only gained 50 yards on the ground but the 12 attempts are appealing in deeper formats for teams that need the RB depth. Johnson is still merely an end-of-the-bench stash that could be had for 0-3% of your FAAB. If someone in your league pays more than that let them have him.
